Mom's Sick

Every mom gets the sniffles or an ache, twinge, or headache from time to time, but once in a while she gets felled with a mighty bug.  My turn finally came.  Friday I felt iffy. I have climbed out of those iffy moments before.  Saturday we had our first yardsale here.  By 3 pm I was in bed shivering under a mound of blankets and writhing in agony.  My poor husband.  I just abandoned him.  Climbed in bed and there was no turning back.  I moaned and groaned and demanded things via texting.  (They were afraid to come near me, I think.) Drugs! Give me drugs!

My daughter was my nursemaid for the evening.  She brought me water, juice, damp cloths, and made me take the covers off when my temp reached 102.8.  The little shit dear. I made it through the night.

Sunday was Father's Day.  Oh what a treat Alan received for his big day.  He got to be me!  He took all three darlings to church, even the monstrous boisterous 2 year old.  I managed a shower while they were gone and into clean pj's.  I also made it out in the afternoon while they had lunch. Had a bit to eat and hauled my puny ass outside to water the plants.  Within the hour I was back in bed with fever climbing.

Alan had to return to work of course and I to my domestictity.  However, it is now Wednesday evening and while I have very short bouts of "feel-goodness" I spiral out by lunchtime.  I have conquered much of the dirty laundry.  Now it is just clean laundry wadded up in my room.  It may or may not get folded and put away before it is all used again.  My kitchen is a wasteland.

So wish for jena to get better. Please and thank you.
