Summer is here!

And boy is it busy!  Between Tball for Finn and tennis for Rian I am feeling a bit stretched.  It seems rather pathetic that these two activities could keep me so busy but I have eaten my lunch in the car for many days in a row now.  I now have snacks at the ready in the car. 

The weather finally coming through for us is a bonus.  Wearing winter coats at Tball practice didn't feel quite right.  The downside is we shut the windows and flip on the a/c.  The upside, we don't have to listen to the rotten neighbor dogs yipping their heads off.  I love that my kids get so hot in low 80s and low humidity.  I don't feel a bit guilty kicking their little butts outside knowing that I dealt with the high humidity and high temps growing up.  No, I didn't walk to school up hill both ways through tons of snow, but I had to play outside in 98 degree temps with 97% humidity.  Take that!

Last week I took the kiddos to the pool.  It was quite the planning feat for me.  Snacks, suits, sunscreen, towels, umbrellas. I also hired help to go with me.  That was probably the best idea I had.  The kids had an absolute blast.  I enjoyed myself thoroughly until some little brat pushed Jack down and nearly drowned him.  Please don't roll your eyes.  It was terribly traumatic for ME!  All is well now, but I'm still having flashbacks. 

Next up this summer is Rian's birthday sleep over.  She has grand ideas and huge plans.  I am along for the ride and just trying to keep up.  There will be treasure hunts and birthday cake and a gaggle of giggling girls.  Wish me luck. 

All I have to do is make it through this holiday weekend.  There will be much fun and little rest.  Have a super weekend folks!
