First, pull out your cork screw and pop that cork. Yep, trust me. Knitting is much more fun with a little bit of wine on board. Cast on the desired number of stitches. Oh, this is not a how-to knitting lesson. This is only information for those out there that already know how to knit and wish to take it to the next level.
The game in this is trying to knit rows fast enough so you can take sips of your chosen beverage and keep a decent buzz going. I realize how terrible this sounds. But the goal is to turn a rather boring evening at home, knitting, into some prize winning entertainment. Since the pattern I chose had a lace pattern in increments of four rows, I went with, knit four rows, take a sip. Knit four rows, take a sip. This worked rather well until my one eye tried to do its own thing. At this point in time, it may become prudent to put your focus to just one task at a time. I chose the wine. That lace pattern was a bitch to figure out with my eyes crossing.
